Pop Essentials: Freya Skye Rocks On after a Frustrating Relationship with Can't Fake It
Pop Essentials: Can't Fake It by Freya Skye, Teen Heartbreak Sounds So Good!
I'm not even mad about it maybe a little... - Freya sings on the verses.
It's charged up and sounds all too familiar like a Hit of course. Freya is opening up on this record, reminiscing and questioning how the relationship went from a dream she couldn't wait for every night to dreading bedtime because it has turned into a nightmare, sonically it's very fresh pop rock with teen energy, she reminds me of Avril Lavigne in a way.

The song never gets dull it has replay value and is well written and has a very polished production. The guitar driven verses are so nostalgic and it also gives us an almost updated version of Since You've Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson, big pipes to fill and Freya sounds so much at home, young as she is, she's definitely in control and a powerhouse in the making already hitting the right notes.
I'm in love with the chorus especially the post bridge chorus, the transition and drum elements give you an eruption that brings it all together beautifully as she gives you a beautiful run. This is definitely a playlist essential and we give it a 5/5.
Can't Fake It was released January 17 2025, Freya Skye is best known for her role on Disney's hit movie series Zombies as Nova Bright and being part of the tour alongside Descendants stars.
